Elmhurst University is a recipient of a National Science Foundation Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace Education (NSF SaTC EDU) Collaborative Research Grant with Arcadia University to provide cybersecurity training to high school teachers.
The three year project will provide summer training workshops for high school teachers in Chicago and Philadelphia that will help them become more comfortable teaching cybersecurity. In addition, the project seeks to develop cybersecurity curricula for the classroom.
The goal of the project is to equip educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to encourage more students to consider cybersecurity degrees and careers, addressing a widening gap between the growing number of available positions and the number of college graduates who can fill them.
The teacher training workshops begin in the summer of 2025.
